The classification of offences as bailable or non-bailable and the procedure for bail are set out in the criminal procedure code and the Pakistan Penal Code.
Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), 1898
Schedule II classifies offences as bailable or non-bailable. Section 496-498 govern bail and anticipatory bail.
Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), 1860
Substantive offences and their punishments, which determine bail classification.
Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997
