Shagufta Malik specializes in corporate law, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and public sector governance, bringing extensive experience across prominent state-owned enterprises, regulatory bodies, and global dispute networks. She launched her corporate career as a Corporate Law Officer (UT) within a leading Pakistani public corporation, where she continues to serve and actively manage high-value real estate matters alongside core regulatory frameworks. Her deep sector expertise is further informed by her tenures with vital state organs, including the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad—where she specifically navigated complex real estate legal matters—and the National Transmission & Dispatch Company (NTDC) in Lahore. In these roles, she systematically analyzed complex public-private interfaces, mitigated systemic asset risks, and formulated practical regulatory solutions. Currently, she leverages this institutional and property-law background as an Empanelled Neutral with the International Centre for Dispute Resolution Lahore (ICDRL), an Associate Arbitrator, and a Digital Dispute Resolution Specialist from ADR ODR International. Notably, she holds a prestigious global "triple accreditation" as an accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator, a multi-jurisdictional qualification approved by the UK Civil Mediation Council (CMC), the International Mediation Institute (IMI), and the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) as a Level 1 mediator.
Complementing her corporate and practice experience, Ms. Malik is a legal scholar and dual Gold Medalist who graduated with top academic distinctions. She is actively involved in advanced academic research within the field of ADR, focusing on the integration of mandatory pre-trial mediation in Pakistan through extensive socio-legal fieldwork, qualitative stakeholder interviews across the country, and comparative analysis of mediation developments in Victoria, Australia. Her resulting research paper on this system is currently under process for formal publication.
